Irma Crew is 98 Years Old

On Father John's last visit to Irma it was the day after her 98th Birthday.  She wanted Father John to say "Hello" to everyone, but he offered to make a video instead.  Guess who said "Yes!"  We also want to wish Cecelia Ziegler who also recently turned 98!

The February Newsletter: Lent Begins

Please Read the February Newsletter.  This is one of the important ways we all stay connected to our mission here at St. John's.  There you will find the parish calendar, the schedules for readers and Eucharistic Ministers, and Last but by no means least, a description of our Lenten Programs for this year.  If you would like to contribute articles for the next Newsletter which will be published in March, please contact Father John.  The next deadline for submissions is Monday, March 4.  Blessings ~ Father John

Bishop Dietsche makes mention of Yonkers in his Installation Sermon

He asked us to put a candle in the window.   Well, it may be we took him literally.  Here is a short youtube video commentary Father John made on the Installation and it's sermon.

Recipe for Joy!

So, lots going on!
The moon off the belltower

The January Newsletter has been published and you can see it here.  Inside there is some interesting insights about New Year's Resolutions drawn from the recent best seller "The Power of Habit" by journalist Charles Duhigg.  You can also see the latest weekly announcements here.

A Recipe Book is in the cooking and if you would like to share recipes you will need to get them to Trudy Byrns ASAP.  Byrns39@aol.com.  There is going to be some good stuff in that book.  If you doubt me just think back to our last Pot-luck!

Pretty soon there will be some major Bible reading, Song singing and praying taking place in the Guild Room.  We are going to have an evening to share ideas how to give our children a spiritual life under the shelter of our own roofs!  Come join us on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7PM.  We will all be going home promplty at 8PM so as not to stay up too much past bedtime.

Do you get the (nearly) weekly announcements from St. John/s?  They go out each week to your email address.  You can sign up to get them on this webpage... see the link to the right.

God bless us all as we journey with Christ further into 2013.

BTW...Father John is still waiting to hear an answer to the question he asked in the Newsletter.
